Re-roof of an exisitng foam roof. Owner did not want another foam roof. Instead he opted for a TPO roof. Because the existing foam roof was originally installed poorly, taper insulation was needed to make the roof drain.
Because this house sits high, overlooking a valley, birds will like to perch on this roof. The perched birds will also peck the roof. Sprayed foam is NOT a good opition for this roof.
Work in progress: The coating on the existing foam roof was removed, the roof was cleaned and dried, a layer of taper insulation was added (to make the roof drain) and then TPO applied.
In foreground, is the old existing foam roof. At the center of the photo, is the installation of the taper insulation with the TPO. In the background, is the installation of the white TPO at the parapet.
Roof prepped for the installation of the taper insullation.
Roof cleaned before the installation of the taper insulation. The pile of insulation in the background will be glued to the existing foam. The house has exposed wooded ceilings and screws can not be used.
The finished TPO roof.
Photo shows new roof slope and parapet details.
